A true story about an orphaned newborn baby baboon who tries to find a make-believe mama. Lucy and her reluctant dog, Rusty, help Matilda along.

About the Author
Based on the author’s early life in Africa, Rusty and Matilda is the second of a Nonfiction Trilogy for young children. Lucy (from the author’s middle name, Lucille) was born in Angola, Africa, where her American parents were missionaries. When she was five, they moved to an isolated mission station in the African bush of Nyasaland (now Malawi) where she grew up in the 1940’s and 50’s.

About the Illustrator
Susan Rodney is a multi-media artist working in watercolor, oil, acrylic, glass, and ceramic mediums. During her career, she has designed and created works of art for private, corporate, and federal clients.
